The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a gentle, evidence-based listening therapy designed to help children feel calmer, more connected, and better able to handle challenges. Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, it uses specially filtered music to “tune” the nervous system, helping kids who struggle with anxiety, sensory sensitivities, emotional regulation, or social engagement. By listening to this music through headphones in short sessions, a child’s nervous system learns to feel safer and more at ease, making it easier for them to focus, connect with others, learn, and respond more calmly to everyday situations. Many moms find it a supportive addition to therapies for children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, learning, or sensory processing challenges.
